This is such a unique Valentine that I just wanted to share it with you!

"Be My Valentine -- Come Up an' See Me Some Time, It'll Be A Circus."   What an unusual and special card this is!  I feel strongly that this is a Dr. Seuss illustration.  I researched his pre-children's book career and learned he was an illustrator in the 1930's and 1940's.  This elephant reminds me so much of the elephant from Horton Hears a Who.  As someone who loves both vintage children's books and ephemera, it is a delight to find a card that is by a well-loved children's book illustrator.   The red die-cut heart is a separate piece from elephant, but attached firmly;  card does not open.   1940's -- labeled Made in U.S. Am., a common designation during the WWII years.

And doesn't the elephant remind you of Horton Hears a Who?
