• I`m currently experiencing some problems with BIDPAY as they no longer accept UK bank accounts since they changed site terms/details, etc,. so I may not be able to accept payments via this service … I will update this page accordingly when I have more details from the site/customer service.

• Certificate (proof) of Posting
  • Gives proof of posting for any item sent.
  • Cost: FREE … I always obtain these if sending without signed for delivery as below
  • Maximum compensation payable: 100 times the value of a 1st/2nd class stamp.
    No compensation paid in respect of cash or jewellery.
    Does not actually guarantee any compensation in respect of loss / damage etc

• Most items are now sent by: Signed For/Registered Delivery (previously known as Recorded Delivery)
  • This is NOT insurance cover
  • Gives a registered proof of posting and requires/provides a signature on delivery.
  • This is NOT a guaranteed service, and as such will not stop an item from 'disappearing' en route.
    The signature required upon delivery is to prove an item has been delivered.
    If the delivery does not turn up, signed for/registered delivery is actually untraceable!
  • Cost: is included in the stated Registered/Recorded p+p cost.
    Can be used with either 1st or 2nd class post.
  • Maximum compensation payable: 100 times the value of a 1st/2nd class stamp.
    No compensation paid in respect of cash or equivalent,
    (eg. vouchers, uncrossed postal orders etc) or jewellery.

• Special Delivery
  • This is Royal Mail`s higher level insurance cover
  • Gives a registered proof of posting, a signature on delivery and a guaranteed next working day delivery
    to most parts of the UK. Weekend (Saturday) delivery may be exempt – no Sunday delivery.
  
  Recommended for posting any item of higher value. (Also covers cash/jewellery.)
  • Cost: in relation to weight/value and as offered/included in the “Special Delivery” option via eBay checkout
    (Basic level insurance cover up to £500.)

• Royal Mail Standard Parcels
  • Used for heavier/larger/bulkier packages as is generally cheaper than standard first class registered post
  • Royal Mail aim to deliver such parcels within three to five working/business days
  • Enhanced Compensation Cost: is extra and according to Royal Mail pricing.
  • NB: Certain types of goods are not covered, eg glassware & ceramics

• Due to full time (rotating) work commitments, I am only able to post out once/twice a week,
  (generally Wednesday &/or Friday) so your item will go on the first available day after payment clearance.
  Special Delivery items go a.s.a.p./next available working day after payment clearance



• If you require the item for a certain date, you must obviously contact me PRIOR to bidding
  and certainly AFTER auction close/purchase with full details if this is the case so I am able to help you.
  Prompt payment - (possibly via an online method for speed,) and Special Delivery can help ensure
  that your item reaches you in time.



• Please note that if you purchase after normal Post Office working hours, (or mine!) I am obviously unable to send your items
  overnight to reach you for the next morning! Royal Mail 1st class unfortunately does not guarantee next day delivery either!
  If you are desperate to receive your item by the next day, please use Special Delivery!


• Insurance costs are EXTRA to the original stated postage and packaging/handling cost.

• Please note that missing parcel/Insurance claims can take many weeks to be settled AFTER the initial claim file date.
  Royal Mail will only begin/open an “missing parcel/package” claim file approx. 14 working/business days after initial postage should anything happen
  and you have not received your package/parcel within this time. You MUST obviously keep in contact with me for a successful claim process!
  You - the buyer - will also need to complete forms, etc. for Royal Mail to help the investigation process.
  Although I always obtain a proof of postage/receipt of delivery reference by the use of Royal Mail Registered/Recorded Delivery Service, I will NOT be held responsible for lost/damaged items if you do not choose to purchase Special Delivery postage (or insurance) as offered. Please note, however, that I will help all I can in cases of lost/missing post, however the outcome of any claim lies fully with Royal Mail, and compensation valued only as to your chosen service, as per Royal Mail terms. Special Delivery is the guaranteed, fully insured Royal Mail service offered/available to buyers, and provides any necessary insurance above standard postage claims, etc.

US / International Buyers -

• Please bear in mind that USA/International shipping costs are much higher than UK costs due to :

Your Postman/ Courier should have left a card with further details plus a reference number.
    You MUST contact me regarding missing parcels/packages as I will need to file a claim with postal services.

  • Gives registered proof of posting and details electronic proof of delivery.
  • Tracking reference
  • Please check for posting restrictions which vary from country to country – Airsure service is not available to certain countries. If in doubt – please ask.
  • On average, USA/International packages take approx 5-7 working/business days to arrive, but can take longer depending upon the courier system and customs clearance times for your area/country. Please be patient!
