It's A Hobby Cards and Collectibles
It's A Hobby Cards and Collectibles ebay store came about due to circumstances that dictated selling a collection that was accumulated over the last 30 years. Someone was once asked, how he became successful. He said "people become successful by either inspiration or desperation." This endeavor might be a little of both.
While inspired to sell, I am not desperate to blow out my collection. I am also not getting out of the hobby. There will be constant new merchandise available in several areas. I am trying to turn my passion into more than my hobby. Trust me though, when I say that this situation is brought on by need, not greed. I have always enjoyed the collecting side of this hobby, but seldom relished the business side that afforded me funds to keep my hobby going.
My goal is to provide collectibles that people may have trouble locating, or that provide some nostalgic release in today's hectic times. We may seem high on some merchandise, unless you figure the cost of travel and time involved to locate. Hopefully our "toys" appeal to both the serious collector and the person that likes to rip them open and play! Our card prices are based on actual sales or percentages I realize at shows. Shipping and handling is designed to be more service oriented than cheap!
I have hopefully given you a brief overview on our philosophy. I will expand on individual facets of this endeavor as time and necessity demand. Also, please realize this is a changing work in progress. If you visit us and don't find what you are looking for, check back from time to time. I want to thank the customers (especially repeat customers) we have enjoyed the hobby with so far. For some of you, please understand that while our philosophy on shipping, handling, prices, etc. may differ, we wish you continued success in your pursuit of the greatest hobby going!
thanks, mike
Here are a few items that warrant more information:
Merchandise cost: I realize that a lot of items we sell may be found at the local retail establishment or that some items don't bring as much at auction. I am not saying we are better, we are just another option. The merchandise being sold in our store is there, the cost involved is marked. I too have driven "all over", (who wants to do that at $2-3.00 per gallon gas) looking for that action figure, and located or not, spent more time and money than what something was worth. A word about sportscards: The prices will reflect what percentages that I actually sell cards for at most of the shows I still do. Some cards sell closer to book, others don't. Selling fees may have a little impact on certain items. This entity might not be the best for the dealer looking to reload, or the collector looking for the cheapest "whatever" available, but if you like buying something at a decent price and receiving your item quickly, I think we can do business.
Shipping: My focus was, is , and barring something drastic, always will be, getting it from here to there ASAP, arriving as good as it left, finding it- if it's lost, while maintaining expenses (mine and yours). I ship everything priority mail w/delivery confirmation. We can ship overnight , it will cost you more, but available. (Cheaper /slower methods are currently not an option.) |
