Frequently Asked Questions
Q:When I purchase products by the foot (wire/loom tubing, etc), how is the shipping calculated for more than one foot?
A:When you enter the amount of feet that you want in the "quantity" box, the shipping will automatically update to the combined shipping rate for the additional feet.
Q:Do you combine shipping?
A:Yes. For your convenience, we can set up a custom listing with all the items you want to purchase in the one listing. That way you only have one checkout and the combined shipping rate already calculated. Please contact us with any questions. Thanks.
Q:Do the capacitors have to be charged before installing?
A:YES! All our capacitors come with a charging bulb (some of them are built right into the capacitor). We recommend following all the instructions that come with the capacitor - including charging the capacitor before installation.
Q:Does the Boom Stick Sound Level Meter work for home use too?
A:It works well for home stereos. It doesn't provide a static number but fluctuates between a close range of numbers (i.e. 69.1 - 71db) so you can dial it in close enough for the average listener.
Q:Do you ship internationally?
A:Yes. Most of our items have international shipping options in the listing. If the item you are looking at does not, please contact us for an international shipping quote. We strongly suggest shipping Priority Mail via USPS or UPS (in Canada only). First Class Mail International can be very unpredictable. Please contact us with any questions.
Q:When moving a capacitor from car to car, do I need to discharge it and recharge it?
A:If you are moving the capacitor right away from the one car to the other, you can just move it. However, if the cap is going to be setting for any length of time, then I would recommend discharging it and recharging it.
Q:My 96 Chevy truck has the newer style plug on the antenna. Will the 40-GM10 adapt that to a radio with the larger older style antenna jack?
A:Yes!
Q:I broke/can't find the charging bulb for my capacitor. Is there anything else I can use?
A:You can use any 100K resistor or 12 volt vehicle test light.

Q:Do I have to ground the FBWM801-ANL before it will work?
A:There is a ground wire on the bottom of the block that must be grounded in order for the meter to work. All of the digital meters require a power and a ground. Do not connect a ground anywhere to the block itself. Just ground the small wire on the bottom of the block. If it is already mounted, then you won't see it until you un-mount it.
