T-shirt Sizing Chart

Are you wondering if the shirt will fit you?  That is a genuine concern, because vintage t-shirts are often smaller than modern t-shirts, and often people don't know if a shirt will fit them.  When listing the size, I use the size on the tag, however the best way to find out if a shirt will fit you is to use the chest and length measurements.   So, in order to help you out, I have made this chart with modern sizes and measurements that correspond.  This way you will know by the measurements of a shirt if it will fit you based on what modern size t-shirt you wear.

The measurements below are taken when the shirt is laying flat on a table, so in order to fit this to your chest size, you would double the width, and subtract 1-2 inches.  So, for men, a size Large shirt measures 21 inches and it would fit a jacket size 40-42 (double 21 plus or minus one inch).  For ladies, the same ideas apply, measuring your bust size and then cutting it roughly in half to see how the shirt fits.

This also depends on how tight you like your shirts to fit.  If you like the tight fit look, then go for the closer fit, and if you like the baggy fit, go for a larger size.
