| My grading system is very simple. I do not use the (NM, M) rating; however, I choose to use VG+, VG, and give a description of the actual vinyl.
VG++, means that there is no marks of any kind, these are the type of records that make me go, "wow! now that's a nice record." I very seldom use this grading.
VG+, is probably the most common rating I use. In most cases it is a very clean record, and if it has any paper scuffs or light surface marks I mention that in the description. You should be happy with all the records in this category.
VG, a few paper scuffs, no scratches you can feel. I usually give a description of the blemishes.
VG-, will probably play with a little bit of noise. Might have a small scratch you can feel (I always note this in the description).
G+,G, must be a rare record for me not to throw it out. Don't think you'll find many in my store.
ON THE WHOLE: I UNDERGRADE MY RECORDS. I DON'T WANT TO RISK GETTING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK OR BEING BOTHERED WITH RETURNS. I DO NOT SELL ANY RECORDS THAT SHOULD BE TRASHED, (unless they are rare, as stated above). |
