Goats Milk Melt & Pour Soap Base
OUR ALL NATURAL MELT AND POUR GOATS MILK SOAP BASE IS RICH WITH CREAMY LATHER, EXCEPTIONALLY MOISTURIZING WITH A IVORY OR CREAM APPEARANCE AND NEUTRAL ODOR.
OUR ALL NATURAL MELT AND POUR SHEA BUTTER SOAP BASE IS RICH WITH EXCEPTIONAL CREAMY LATHER WITH A VERY WHITE TO CREAMY IVORY APPEARANCE AND NEUTRAL ODOR.
1.Prepare your base and molds. Cut your soap base into 1 or 2 inch chunks. You can grate your soap if you prefer, however you do loose some base as it will stick to the grater. Make sure your molds are clean and dry. If you are worried about your soap sticking to the mold then spray your molds with a mold release such as vegetable oil spray.
2.Melt your soap chunks in a double boiler over medium heat, stirring or melt them in a heat resistance bowl in the microwave at 50 percent power for approximately one minute, stir continue at 20 second intervals until completely melted. Measuring the amount of soap base you will need for your molds can be easily eyeballed. If you prefer to use exact measurements then using your molds add water to you molds and then transfer the water to your melting pot or bowl. Mark with a pen or masking tape, where the water comes to. Melt enough soap base to come to your mark.
3.Remove your melted soap base from heat and stir in any additives such as color, oils, butters or herbs. You should add your color first a little at a time, stirring until you reach desired shade. When adding oils or butters don’t add to much as they may separate or affect your soaps lathering ability. A good rule of thumb is to add no more than one tablespoon of an additive per pound of soap. If adding fresh ingredients that may go rancid, such as mashed fruit, consider adding a preservative such as Vitamin E or Carrot seed oil.
4.Just before pouring your soap into your molds add your scent or essential oils. Again add a little at a time stirring in between additions until desired scent is reached. Pour your soap intro the molds and let cool for approximately an hour or so until firm. Remove from molds. Although your soap is ready to use, you should allow your soap to dry out for a few days. It will make your soap last longer.
STORING AND TIPS
Storing your soap is very important. Because most melt and pour soap bases contains Glycerin, then over time, it will sweat, or develop little beads of water on it, as the water in the air is drawn to the soap surface. This does not harm the soap but it does detract from its appearance. To avoid this wrap your soap in protective plastic wrap not allowing the air to come into contact with your soap until you are ready to use.
Never let your soap sit in water. Sitting in water will cause your soap to get soft and dissolve away. Use a soap dish that has drainage or a raised area for your soap. Letting your soap dry between uses will make it last longer.
When using a colorant in your soap remember a little goes a long way. After all you don’t want your bathtub or skin the color of your soap.
Never overheat your soap. Use just enough heat to melt your soap, stirring to insure even heating. Never leave melting soap unattended.
Remember melted soap is hot and can burn when it comes into contact with your skin as with any hot liquid. Use caution when pouring.
We also recommend that you use newspaper in your work area for spillage. It makes it easier to clean up. Never place drying soap on printed paper or colored paper as your soap will absorb the color or print. We recommend either the paper side of butchers paper or parchment paper.
Turn drying soap at least once a day or two to ensure even drying. Also do not dry soap under an air flow such as a fan. It can blow dust or dirt onto your soap.

Calendula Soap
From Our Personal Collection
Ingredients:
1 lb. Melt & Pour Soap Base (Clear, Goats Milk, Shea, Olive Oil, Etc.)
¼ c. Calendula Flowers
1 tsp. Sweet Almond Oil
½ tsp. Vitamin E Oil
1 tsp. Floral Essential Oil or ½ to 1 tsp. Fragrance oil (optional)
Small spray bottle of Rubbing Alcohol
Note: You can use any of your favorite melt and pour soap base, depending on the attributes that you want in your finished soap. You need to take into consideration that Calendula Flowers will add a touch of natural color to your finished soap bars.
Remove the Calendula Flower petals from the heads and set aside.
Using a sharp knife, cut your soap base of choice into cubes. Melt your soap either using the double boiler method or microwave method. Once your soap is melted and removed from heat, add the Calendula Flower petals stirring gently to incorporate. Stir in the Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E Oil.
Gently stir in your Essential Oil or Fragrance Oil and pour into your molds. Spray the surface of your soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate air bubbles. Allow your soap to fully cool and harden then remove from molds. Your soap is ready to use.
We do recommend that you let your bars sit out on white paper such as parchment paper or butchers paper for a few days to ensure your soap is fully harden or cured. Make sure you turn your soap for even drying. Package as desired.

Oatmeal Soap
Ingredients:
12 oz. Melt & Pour Soap Base9 oz. Purified (Distilled) Water¼ c to ¾ c Whole Oats (Old Fashion Oats)15 to 20 drops Essential Oil or Fragrance Oil of choice
Cut soap into small pieces. Combine the soap and water in the top section of a double boiler over medium heat melt the soap. As your soap is melting, using a blender or coffee grinder and blend or grind the Whole oats into flakes about a fifth of the original size. Do not over blend them into a powder. Make sure you are using whole oats and never use quick or instant oats. Remove soap from heat when fully melted. Slowly add oats to melted soap stirring gently until you feel you have the desired consistency. Be careful not to add to much oats as it will thicken your soap and make it break into pieces when harden. Add any other additives such as oils, butters or color. Rule of thumb for adding oils is 1 oz. per pound of soap. Add scent or essential oil. Gently stir and pour into molds. Let sit for about an hour until firm then remove from molds place on white paper and let cure a few days turning soap daily. Enjoy
Special Note: Never let homemade soap sit in water. Always let dry between uses. Use a raise soap dish or dry washcloth under soap.

Marbled Soap
1.Melt your soap as instructed.
2.When completely melted, separate a small amount of soap into another bowl.
3.Add main color to the bowl that contains the majority of the soap. Don’t choose to dark of a base color because you want your contrasting swirl to be visible.
4.Add a darker color to the small amount of soap base.
5.Pour your main color into your molds.
6.Take the smaller portion of swirl color and pour it evenly over the top of your base soap in a zigzag fashion, trying to evenly pour over the top so all parts of the soap will have both colors.
7.Using a toothpick or butter knife swirl the colors together much like you would do a marble cake, by gently dragging the toothpick back and forth through the soap. Be careful not to mix the two colors. Use your discretion.
8.Let your soap completely cool and then remove from the molds. Sit out for drying, package and enjoy.

LAYERED SOAP
1.Melt your soap as described in the instructions above.
2.Working quickly, divide your soap into separate bowls, depending on the number of colors you want to use.
3.Stir a different color into each bowl. Add scent and stir well. You can even use a different scent for each color as well.
4.Pour the first layer or color into your prepared molds. Let cool until it thickens. You need to keep your eye on the layers as they cool. Not cool enough, your layers will bleed together. Too long and the layer has become solid, will keep the layers from sticking together.
5.After the first layer cools, lightly spritz it with rubbing alcohol. Pour your second layer. Repeat for all layers.
6.After your soap cool completely, remove from mold and set out for drying.
