Obispo y O'Reilly, Habana Vieja.
Nicholas Delgado, originally a photographer,
began painting in the late fifties. In short order
his work was premiered at Bellas Artes (1961).
Since then his prolific output has been gobbled
up by museums and private collections alike.
However restrictions by the Cuban government
have led to a degree of isolation and he appears
to have little interest in self promotion merely
selling paintings from time to time to curious
tourists and sharp eyed collectors. His prices
have not changed for years, however many
dealers have done well by his works. |
