Welcome to our Technical Support Center. Our goal is for you to have the best possible experience while using our software. Some problems running software are truly a compatibility issue, (ie. The program doesn't run well on the newest Operating System), or sometimes it's the health of the computer that is causing problems. We'll do our best to help you through both scenarios, while always offering 100% money back if we just can't help you.

Some tips to help your buying experience:

  1. Every item we list/sell has technical details listed in the description. Normally, it looks something like this:

    Ages: 7 and up
    Format: CD-Rom
    Platform: Windows (up to Vista)/Mac
    Publisher: The Learning Company

Windows® 95/98/Me/2000/XP (+ Vista, as tested by Customer Service), 486/66MHz, 8MB RAM, 256 color, 15MB available hard disk space.

    Macintosh® 7.5, 8MB RAM, 256 color, 15MB available hard disk space.

"Up to Vista" means that it should work on your Vista machine.

"As tested by Customer Service" means that we were able to run this program on our internal machine.

  2. Most of our software will NOT run on the new Macs with OSX. Most need the "Classic" environment/OS to properly run.

  3. We are currently testing products on the new 64-bit Vista and 7 Operating Systems. If you know that you have this system, you can send us an email to see if we've tested it. Sometimes we have tested it, but not yet updated the listing.
How to find out if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit system

Computer Running Windows XP
  • Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  • If "x64 Edition" is listed under System, you’re running the 64-bit version of Windows XP.
  • If you don’t see "x64 Edition" listed under System, you’re running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.

The edition of Windows XP you're running is displayed under System near the top of the window.

Computer Running Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Click the Start/(Windows Flag) button at the bottom left of your screen , right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
  • If "64-bit Operating System" is listed next to System type, you’re running the 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7.
  • If "32-bit Operating System" is listed next to System type, you’re running the 32-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Feel free to contact us with any questions about any product prior to purchasing/bidding on it.

Some tips to help you after you've bought your software:

  1. Remove any software games that your child isn't playing with any longer. We recommend having no more than five on your system at any one time. A good practice is to remove something prior to installing that fifth program. Some programs take up a lot of resource and will affect the installation/performance significantly.

  2. Run disk cleanup on a weekly basis or if your computer seems to be acting funny. This utility is on your windows system and is very easy to run.

  3. Write down any errors you receive and include them in any email to our staff, so we can help you quickly. Often times, there is a fix to any problems you are experiencing.

  4. Visit our technical help site, www.techlinehelp.com for 24/7 self-support for all of our products. You can also contact us through this site.

Information about your child using the computer:

  1. Q- When should I let my child begin to use the computer?
A- We think it's about two years old when a child will sit long enough to be product on the computer. Products like Reader Rabbit have "clickless" mouse technology so a young one can use a mouse without needing to actually click on the mouse.

  2. Q- I can't risk my child messing up my computer. What should I do?
A- Think of your child when you upgrade your home/office system. You can give your old system to them, and it will likely work great for kids games and learning programs. Many parents we speak to don't even plug the child's computer into the internet.
B- Purchase a "special" mouse/keyboard that is only for your child. The biggest problem we see is little Johnny spilling his juice on the keyboard. The ability to unplug that keyboard and plug yours back in is a life saver.
C- Be ready to search the internet for a solution when your child turns your screen sideways… This has happened to me multiple time
