 Olivier Ruth and his wife, Elisabeth, of Provence, France, have a deep appreciation for tradition and quality. For years both worked in the famed French cosmetics and fashion industry. While Mr. Ruth was chairman at L'Occitane, he created the Durance subsidiary in order to offer equivalent products to non-L'Occitane independent stores. Durance was subsequently purchased by the Ruths, enabling them to realize their long-cherished dream of establishing their own family business.
Durance is situated among ancient truffle beds, oak woods and fine lavender in rural Grignan, in the heart of Provence. This provençal land, rich in traditions and authenticity, leads us to be aware of our ecological responsibility to the planet and commits us to long term development of innovative natural products.
