Laptop/Notebook Memory Installation Guide

*Please note: If you need to remove the existing memory module in your system, refer to Step 5 first.

Installing new memory modules

Step 1: (Please refer to the laptop manuals if necessary)
Unplug and Power down the laptop.
Ground yourself by touching any unpainted metal surfaces.
Remove Memory from package.

Step 2:
Locate the memory bays for your laptop. (Usually it is located on the back of the laptop,
Some laptops might have one memory slot located underneath the keyboard. )



Tilt the module at a 30 to 45 degree angle and Line up the gap of module with gold contacts facing down.

Tips: All memory modules have keyed (gap) for proper alignment. Aligning gap for the memory module with the corresponding gap from the memory slot first before inserting the memory. Do not force the memory into the slot



Step 3:
Insert and apply equal pressure on both ends of the modules. Make sure the gold contacts are connected to the memory slot properly.


Press the top of the module down until it is lying flat. Clips from both sides should be snap up around the module.

Repeat steps with additional modules if necessary.

Step4.
Put back the laptop cover.
Installation complete.

Removing the existing memory module

Step5. (Please refer to the laptop manuals if necessary.)
Unplug and power down the laptop.
Locate computer memory bays.

Pull outward on the Clips from both ends of the memory slot.

Remove the module from the slot.
Removal of the memory complete.

Verifying the additional memory

Step6. (Please refer to different Operating System Manuals if necessary.)
Power up the laptop and log into Windows.
Right Click on "My Computer", Select "Properties", and the additional memory should be shown as below.

Troubleshooting:
If the memory is not recognized by the computer, please try to re-install it again but "Press Harder and Wiggle it a bit". The gold pins at the bottom of the memory should be inserted firmly all the way into the memory slot. You can also wiggle the memory a bit to make sure that the memory are connected to the slot properly.
